So I haven't posted in here for a bit and I'm not going to say I've been really busy, just not really had something to post about. So here I go into another rant.
Most magic released these days is shit.
It's so true. Either its already in a book or is just generally shit. Magicians publish shit just to make money (Sankey). Go to any magic shop (online or brick and mortar) and I guarantee you can find lots of shit magic on the front page (online(although in the few brick and mortar I've been in they seem to stock less shit, although who can blame them because it sells)). So that leads us nicely into another point.
Why does it sell?
Because most magicians are dumb and don't read. Seriously go and get any magic book (within reason) and I guarantee that you will find at least one workable trick in there. Or even better go and buy a book from a good magician (Vernon, Marlo, Walton, etc) and learn some magic from a fucking book. DVD's are a good source to learn from but books are better value for money and generally have better quality tricks than the latest and "greatest" DVD from any of your shit online magic shops. Of course their are amazing DVD's (Vincent, Earl, Daortiz, Forte, etc) but the majority of DVD's can be beaten in almost every single way by a good book.
So stop being lazy and buying shit DVD's and buy a good book and study the fucking thing.
